ABOUT US

The Business for Peace Community Development Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and social enterprise, established in 2015, is on a journey to promote political, social, and economic justice globally. We work with women and girls living in poverty and context of violence as well as those dealing with issues of immigration and reintegration. We do so by fostering gender equality on all fronts and women’s empowerment at all levels.

B4P CODEFOUND sprouted out of the need and passion for re-imagining women empowerment and exploring innovative ways to deal with the vicious circle of violence which not only inhibit women and girls’ personal growth and development but impacts their families and society. We therefore work to deal with:

      • The challenges and limitations of women and girls in the areas of peacebuilding as well as personal and economic development, and

      • The insufficient or lack of sustainable initiatives led by women, girls, and other stakeholders, thereby creating gaps for dealing with the specific needs and livelihoods of women and communities in the long term.

  • Build women and girl’s confidence to act as agents of change at local, national, and international levels

  • Invest resources in women, girls, and communities to enhance their self-reliance and development.

  • Connect individuals and groups to foster learning and encourage collective actions that yield greater community impact.

Vision

We envisage a world where women and girls lead by creating and promoting entrepreneurial models to foster economic freedom, sustainable peace, and development beyond borders.

Goal

Facilitate, accompany, and support community cooperation; enhance local community capacities for promoting and sustaining local peace initiatives, collective and co-created enterprises for poverty reduction, as well as development and shared prosperity.

Mission

B4P CODEFOUND seeks to increase and sustain the voice and agency of women and girls by building their capacities to access resources and tools for social justice, cohesion, and financial independence.

What we do

B4P CODEFOUND works at the intersection of gender equality, social justice, and community development. We focus on practical programmes that expand rights, opportunities, and voice for women and girls in Liberia and across the diaspora.

Women gathering together indoors

Women’s leadership & political participation

We support women and girls to lead in their communities, build confidence, and take up space in local and national decision-making. From community forums to leadership coaching, we help emerging leaders move from the margins to the table.

Women standing together outdoors

Economic empowerment & livelihoods

Investing in women’s economic power changes families and communities. We provide skills training, mentoring, and access to networks so women can strengthen their businesses, secure income, and build resilient livelihoods.

Ending violence against women & girls

Violence is a violation of human rights and a barrier to development. We work with communities, survivors, and partners to challenge harmful norms, strengthen referral pathways, and promote safety and dignity for women and girls.

Community members in group activity

Peacebuilding & social cohesion

Our programmes create safe spaces for dialogue and healing, especially in communities affected by conflict and crisis. We centre women’s experiences and leadership in the work of rebuilding trust and strengthening social cohesion.

Girls in Code Lab & digital skills

Through our Girls in Code Lab, we introduce girls and young women to coding, digital tools, and online safety. We want them not only to use technology but to shape it, unlocking opportunities in the digital economy.

Diaspora partnerships & solidarity

We connect Liberian communities at home and abroad, mobilising diaspora skills, resources, and networks. Together we co-design initiatives that respond to local priorities and strengthen cross-border solidarity.

Community organising & movement-building

We nurture grassroots organising, supporting women’s groups, networks, and coalitions to coordinate actions, amplify their demands, and influence policies that affect their daily realities.

Young women in a learning space

Young feminist leadership & mentoring

We pair young women leaders with mentors and provide tailored learning journeys. Our aim is to grow a diverse pipeline of feminist leadership within communities, institutions, and movements.

Women in rural setting

Rural women’s rights & services

Rural women face layered barriers to services, information, and justice. We work with local partners to reach remote communities with programmes tailored to their realities and priorities.

We document stories, generate evidence, and engage in advocacy that centres the knowledge of women and girls. Learning from our work feeds back into programme design and influences broader agendas.
